I have been a pediatric nurse for over 20 years. I have had a love of photography for as long as I can remember. Between caring for my family and caring for my patients, I never had the time to pursue my passion for capturing memories. At least not until I, myself, became the patient. Several years ago, my busy and chaotic world came to a screeching halt. I found myself in bed, recovering from back surgery. Suddenly I had more time than I knew what to do with. I am not one to lay idle and I still remember being overwhelmed with feelings of restlessness and confinement. Little did I know the turn my life would take in those moments.
The sudden realization that I could spend some time learning more about photography left me signing up for every online course I could find. Here is where it began, and here is where I still am today. My passion remains, my desire to learn more remains, and I continue to take courses to grow and expand my horizons. I am much better at carving out time for this, and have discovered the importance of doing so. It has made me a better mom, wife, nurse, and photographer.
